How do patients register for Patient Access?
You must be a fully registered patient, over 16 years old, and need a letter from us containing personalised access codes. To obtain this letter you need to attend the practice and ask for consent form for registration for Patient Access. (Photo ID i.e. passport/driving license will be required). You will be issued with your personalised access codes and instructions. Please keep these details safe and secure. You can connect to the web site at any time and register.
How do patients get onto Patient Access?

The first time you use the site you will be asked to create your account. Here you will need to entere the four registration codes given to you by the practice.
Repeat prescription requests
If one of our doctors has arranged a repeat prescription for you and the review date has not expired, then you can use Patient Access to request a repeat. Prescriptions can be collected two full working days after request. Once you have logged onto Patient Access you can view medication items by clicking List of your repeat medication in the repeat prescriptions section of the screen. Tick the items you require and then click Make Request. There is no need to add a message relating to your request. You will then see a confirmation screen, providing you are happy with the selection you made, click Confirm.
You will be able to access the appointments booking facility. The on-line appointment booking facility currently offers appointments with doctors only. You can book / check or cancel your appointment 24 hours a day. You will have a selection of doctors’ appointments to choose from, up to three weeks in advance.
- Some types of appointment will still need to be made via our receptionists, for example nursing appointments, baby checks, minor operations or complex problems that may require an appointment (the standard length of a doctor’s appointment is 10 minutes).
- If you have a problem which is medically urgent, then we advise that you contact us by phone in the usual way.
SECURITY & CONFIDENTIALITY
We regard security and confidentiality as extremely important. Communications to the practce are encrypted, and security is at the same high level as for internet banking. It would only be possible to access your records by using your chosen PIN number / password. Needless to say, do not disclose your pin number to anyone. Each patient wishing to take advantage of this facility needs to sign individually a consent form, stating that they agree to their record being available to them on-line.
